Black Lives Matter Cofounder Patrisse Cullors

Patrisse Cullors — founding member of Black Lives Matter, leader of Coalition to End Sheriff Violence in Los Angeles, sparkplug for Dignity & Power Now, artist, actress, activist extraordinaire — joined us this past Monday.

Black Lives Matter Cofounder Patrisse CullorsWith her colleagues, she has been pressing hard to establish civilian oversight for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, advocating on the ground for nearly two years to end the culture of violence among deputies behind the walls LA County’s jail system.

A leading spokesperson for the Black Lives Matter that has captivated the country’s attention and focused attention on the seemingly endless series of police shootings of black men, Patrisse has made herself a rallying point for the new generation of young, mostly black activists who are demanding a change to the tragic same old, same old.

Join us for what was a lively discussion of the issues and more. Please call in at 323.473.3100 when the show is live (3 to 4 p.m., Monday) or watch us later.
